Uncovering the Myths
I received this message yesterday from a woman, which I would like to share here incognito:
"Dear sister Alexa,
I'm drawn to the Tantric dance on Sunday, but i'm soooo afraid to join... I became afraid of People, it seems... So, to dive in like that scares me big time!
I'm still healing from some hard situations and don't know if i'm ready. On the other hand, i don't want to stay in the 'i have to be alone and heal'-field."
Maybe for some of you it's recognizable in terms of how you feel right now. Maybe this reflects how you felt in the past.
Often, our mind creates images which are much more scary than it is in reality.
Part of me goes like "How can one be scared of such an innocent open-hearted context as dance which is thoroughly prepared and guided beforehand so everyone feels safe and empowered to explore and expand? One person has their blindfold on, so we can better own the programs playing out in us when we see with our eyes and are seen."
On the other hand, I, of course, understand.
We all carry fear of connection and intimacy to a certain degree. Different beliefs may support that fear within us.
"What if I can't say No to something I don't like?" (fear to disappoint another, fear of your own power)
"If I open up, what if another one will expect something from me?" (fear to be abused)
"How will I be seen?" (fear of performance, fear of not being good enough)
and other beliefs and fears.
My motto in life is: "Choose a safe way to face your fears!" Because fears imprison your unlimited spirit!
Fears stop us to live this life fully. Fears are ghosts, because when you look at any Fear closely in the eyes it starts disappearing and you find yourself expanded and more alive with energy freed up!"
So, whenever any fear shows its head, it's an invitation for even more expansion, for even more empowerment and aliveness!
As for the Tantric Dance, I'd just like to clarify here that it's called Tantric because we connect beyond performance, beyond any idea how a dance should look like, at the level of deeply meeting each other, at the level of souls and hearts, at the level of energy and resonance.
Tantric doesn't mean that people become sexual or touch each other's intimate areas. Many people have this idea about Tantra that it is all about Sex. We need to get educated here. It's so much deeper than this.
It's about FULLNESS OF LIFE
It's about AUTHENTIC CONNECTION
It's about INNER FREEDOM
It's about being EMPOWERED TO BE YOURSELF
It's about stepping into your SELF-EXPRESSION
It's about JOY OF BEING YOU
It's about tapping into SURRENDER...
