Day 5 in Tamera
“Free love and sexuality is a choice. A radical choice in a society that is conditioned to possess.”
At Tamera, Love & Sexuality is a political question. It is named as one of the main pillars for a peaceful world, next to other pillars that refer to sustainable de-centralised sources for food, water and energy. It is believed that it is suppression of such fundamental energies as love and sexuality that greatly contributes to violence, because suppression of such energies doesn’t allow the heart to stay open.
At Tamera, they outline these 3 foundational values for free love and sexuality:
Trust
Truth
Transparency
As the opposite of:
Competition (this is mine)
Lies (betrayal, doing smth behind someone’s back) and
Hiding (not saying, keeping it to yourself).
Everything can be revealed, including heart-related and sexual desires. Emotions and feelings are embraced and researched.
RESEARCH is a favourite word of Tamera community. Research is an open spirit of learning in a particular field. One can do research in any area of life including love and sexuality.
Even though they gladly reveal how the community functions in the area of love and sexuality (the lecture about it yesterday blasted not only everyone’s conditioned picture but also opened a huge gate for heart and erotic energy in the space), they warn that “out there” where you don’t have a like-minded community support, it is much more challenging to live this. “Be aware of this ”, they say.
“Out there” there is no guidance, no support, no understanding from the bigger collective context that is rooted in the spirit of fear and possession.”
“Free Eros allows us to love each other and care about each other so much more in our community family”, one of the Tamera members shared with us.
“If someone is interested to connect with someone in the community, or feels attracted to, we share it publicly in a circle or ask the third person to connect us.”
Yesterday we saw a documentary that just got released “The village of lovers”. It’s about Tamera. Soon to be seen in public too. A young woman who was born and grew up in Tamera shared how she celebrated her first sexual encounter with her beloved that she was dating with for 2 years before. They did it in their community Love Temple by inviting the whole community to witness it and celebrate with her. The actual love making act was in a room just between them two.
If someone in the community at any point doesn’t desire to share love and sexuality with anyone outside of their partner, it is equally welcome. What’s promoted is freedom and truth.
Last night, many people in our group could not sleep well because the whole whirlpool of feelings and thoughts got stirred up after yesterday’s revelations.
Today’s conversations in the group are much deeper than any other day till now. People openly share how they really feel and dare to show themselves more.
With love,
Alexa Mira
